Here's a review to tip the universe's scale of justice :P
Having moved from Texas, I had a very unusual request in the form of dropping off Spectrum equipment to be returned.
And I wasn't given any information by Spectrum in terms of instructions beyond the fact that I can drop the equipment off at any UPS store.
Given the lack of details and information, I fully expected to have trouble getting things sorted out at the store.
But, lo and behold, I was lucky that Katherine was an absolute champ at looking into the UPS system, adapting on the fly and reaching out to her manager to ensure that there wouldn't be any trouble with the return.
Thanks to Katherine, I came away from the store with the entire process swiftly and efficiently dealt with and also with a thoroughly positive experience.
Thanks Katherine!
The kid who answers the phone here is immature, I couldn't trust these people handling my mail. Make sense, but they need to hire grown ups to handle important matters.
The two girls working at the store weren't necessarily at fault here. They could work on being warm and friendly though.
I was nearby at 4pm in need of a stamp with ten minutes before my bus would arrive a few blocks down the street. So I figured I would check in really fast.
Naturally they charge 85 cents for a 55-cent first-class stamp. I paid my dollar, got my change and receipt and then fished my letter from my backpack. Then these ladies couldn't give me any assurance that a mail pick-up would still happen that day. So while again it's not necessarily their fault, I would like the explanation to be coherent and I find it odd that the postman just comes whenever he feels like it and nobody cares enough to understand why.
So at that point I've realized they were trying to get the machine to print my stamp. Apparently they'd had issues all day and were confident it would spit out eventually. They call up the boss to find out what's going on.
Ok, it's a nationwide issue. UPS or USPS? Doesn't really matter. While I appreciate that the ladies were willing to stamp my envelope once the system came up and drop it in the box for next day, there are just too many ways for that idea to go wrong. So now I needed my money back.
The young lady who appear to be more senior had only done a handful of returns before and the register wouldn't cooperate. So this was a new hurdle requiring a second call to the boss as I eyed the clock. I left the store and ran to the corner just barely catching a bus which was thankfully several minutes late. Or was that doomed to seal my fate?
In my rushing to search online for a place to buy a stamp and then get it sent out same day I neglected to put the envelope back in my backpack. And then finally with a flourish of stupidity mandated by Murphy's Law I managed to leave it behind on my seat. I will spare the story of Valley Metro incompetence that prevents them from dispatching a notice to the driver.
Yes, the last part is all on me. But why does it always have to be so complicated?
Moral: If you're going to charge a convenience fee, at least make my life simpler.
Avoid this location as an Access pick up point! They have already sent back 3 of my packages. Please share your story and experience if you have experienced the same. If, we get enough people to e-mail customerrelations@upsstore.com maybe they will improve their terrible service.
This isn't a real UPS Store. There is no parking, there is no storefront, no easy way to get packages in and out, and it doesn't look anything like it does in the Google Maps picture. This is inside of an ASU building in the middle of campus. When I tried calling during business hours to find out where it was actually located, I got a recording promising me a call back if I left a message.
Call it the UPS Sun Devil Delivery Zone and everyone will love it!
